My Daddy gave me an Omega in '53 for not smoking; still
wearing it today! Never felt the need for another
watch.
My Rolex SeaDweller keeps excellent time.
I do Keep it on a winder or my wrist and have it serviced every five
years or so.
May just be a brand, but they manage it well. I have a TAG it is
essentially valueless. My Rolex was always worth as much as I had paid for
it, even went up a little. A couple of years ago they moved to model to their
new larger case, and the value of mine doubled.
You will not see that with most - even high-end watches.
You may simply care for your Patek for future generations- but if you try
to sell it instead it is gonna hurt

Having spent years on the ground there, I believe the numbers
just as much as I believe that Rolex at the market for $28 is genuine…
I spent much of my youth in the Middle
East... feel the same way.
I love how the Russians flat out rejected swapping their September
date in Sochi for the Chinese April date. Apparently with no
reason other than they don’t want to switch. Who says there is no love
lost between the Russians and the Chinese.
I don’t trust much information out of China that isn’t corroborated
elsewhere. They have a reputation for being lying dog faced pony
soldiers, or whatever Quid Pro Joe Biden says.

Truly, though - not so funny. China is apparently full
of shit and not to be believed or trusted in their
reporting. That is after the blew the call, delayed the
quarantine, and allowed something like 5 million potentially
infected individuals outside the quarantine zone.
My wife has two cruses booked this year. I was never
going. Certainly would not go now.
BTW and FWIW - despite the Flu shot I got the Influenza A
this year. It was / is brutal. Not much in terms of
coughing or sneezing or vomiting, or pooping - but the pain!
I barely lifted my head off the pillow for 5 days. Been
another week and I am still worn out, achy, and tired - but light
years better than last week.
If you didn’t get it, get the shot. You do not want
this year’s flu.
