75 mph at the TABAC CORNER, still there today and 80 mph on the very short straight after HOTEL DE PARIS. Crazy speed in 1960s with very little protection. I’m reading Innes Ireland biography now. Unbelievable to read how often he used to crashed because of mechanical failures and number of drivers who died around him all season long.
