The big issues is that the Ferrari community doesn’t really put miles on there cars like the P car crowd
So a high mileage Ferrari takes a hit
Look at my 512 TR with 110k plus miles on it
The only people that would interested in the car are people who know me and how I maintained it
Just like my 575 which will go over 50k this year, Ferrari people live in a bubble a very small bubble
My friend who sold used cars and I helped him get a 512 TR said it best
Ferrari owners want a car with less than zero miles !
So true

As we have seen before with other exotics, as they age, workarounds to common problems and aftermarket solutions become more known and readily available.

The owners of the expensive to service Mclaren 12C have benefited from this exact phenomenon.

There are now private shops that are servicing and maintaining the earlier McLaren models.

Even more importantly, they are coming up with custom fixes and aftermarket parts options at a fraction of the OEM pricing structure.

Hmm, please expound upon your statement that "As with any exotic, the usage costs will come down with age." Thinking of each version of an F1 transmission/shifting design being superceded every couple years, it scares me to think about how things will be repaired decades down the road.

I have a few thousand miles at high-ish North American speeds in a 612 OTO.

A great looking car with a very usable and practical layout. The back seats are real too.

The engine is amazing as are the brakes. Handling is decent even when taking into account the considerable weight. There is a peculiar unsettled feeling to the rear over high speed (90+ mph) bumps.

As with any exotic, the usage costs will come down with age.

Matt, there are three guys that go to Montreal with 612s. Next year, you can drive all of them in one weekend.

I'm a mere mortal, so those service records are both encouraging and discouraging simultaneously. Good things like cam belts and clutch recently replaced, but those price points are something the new owner will encounter later in ownership. I wish I loved working on my cars, but whether I love it or not I can say that I can (and have) replaced cam belts and a clutch on my 308. I don't think I could do that on a 612. Therefore, I'd have to have the cash for those type repairs. Not really whining, it is what it is, I don't fret over what I can't have that others can. That car sure looks nice though, but it makes me cherish my 308 too.

It’s tempting. Wonder what it will actually sell for.
