Get a wireless router you can configure as a WAP (wireless access point) that
has external, removable antennas. Depending on the layout of the property
get an outdoor antenna that can cover the needed area. Half cone if you
project from one edge inward, Omni-directional if it will be placed in the
center. If at all possible hard line the network connection from the primary
router to this WAP. I’m at a Doctors appointment now but will send you
contact info for the hardware. There are regulations on output power so more
expensive does not get you more power. If the current primary is working, I’d
suggest staying with that brand as configuring the mesh network will be
easier.

If you just want turn-key, you should contact Ubiquiti Networks.

  Hey brilliant Ferrari friends:

Our horse trainer has a WiFi networking problem that I am trying to help her
solve.

The training barn - in Ocala, FL - sits on about 90 acres. There are a
couple of barns and outbuilding scattered about the property - but it is mostly
empty farmland.

We are trying to achieve the maximum possible WiFi coverage but are limited
by where we have access to power.

It is important, because cell coverage is spotty - WiFi could fill that gap
and provide some much needed peace of mind - in the event of an emergency.

Personally, I don’t get far beyond hacking into my spectrum modem to improve
speeds.

Do any of my brilliant friends have an idea for a long range wifi solution?

  Thank you in advance.

  Scottie
