I’m guessing they are referring to Bob (father) or Bobby (son) Donner of Colorado Springs. He was a car collector and racer. Unfortunately, his son, Bobby, died during a qualifying run of the Fall Teller County Hill Climb when he hit a deer around 120mph. Their mechanic is the one who legalized my 1969 246 Dino.
