All I can think about is what shitty boats the Amphicars were. 

One thing to slowly sink in a lake. 

Personal observation and experience leads to the conclusion that things that try to be too many things - end up being shitty at all of them. 

Is there really room for shitty airplanes?  Like cLyDe said, self cleaning.
