It’s not so much that the car is worth more through inflation/appreciation, when you mythically print trillions of dollars out of thin air, it is the currency that is being deflated.

There was a time, long, long ago where you’d have pay someone about $2600 to take that off of your hands.

A little bit after that, you could probably get $2600 for that pile.

Now, I remember similar condition examples (going back just to the late ‘90s/early 2000s) asking around $26000.

Today, there is another zero added to the end of my above mentioned five-figure price tag.

How much longer would another zero get added to that six-figure amount?...

1964 Ferrari 250GTE Out of 40 Year Ownership and Ready for Restoration:

Desirable Late Production Series III Example with Matching Numbers

This 1964 Ferrari 250GTE is a matching numbers example just out of 40 year ownership and an excellent original car to restore. Chassis no. 4811 is offered in its original color combination of Grigio Argento over Nero Connolly leather. A late production car being the 240th of the Series III variants built. Factory completion date of July 12th 1963 and originally delivered in Milan, Italy. In the late 1960’s the car was exported from Italy to the USA. This extremely exciting find has been under the same ownership for the last 4 decades and comes complete and highly original. An incredibly hard-to-find unrestored 250GTE that's just out of long-term storage. The ideal candidate for complete restoration. Don't miss the opportunity to be the first to restore this unbelievable discovery.
