There is a guy near Portland that let the Ferrari club tour his shop. Interesting guy, Bonneville hall of fame, etc. But he bought 3 MIGs, don't recall which ones. They were definitely older. Sold 2, flew the other for a while until heart issues. We climbed all over it, generally had a good time there.

After he was no longer healthy enough to fly it, he would fire it up periodically to just to warm it up. Had it chained to the ground outside his hanger. Hit the afterburners, and blew out nearby windows. Was asked to not do that anymore. 

Spent a lot of money having the Russian manuals translated. Interesting and scary protocol on what to do in case of a "flame out", which apparently was not uncommon with this vintage of a plane. One thing that surprised me was the limited fuel/range. 

Had a 12 seat plane that I have no idea what it was, but a sticker near the side "passenger" door said "Whoever said money does not buy happiness is shopping in the wrong store". 

Easy to find his airplane hanger. There was the tail section of a Cessna sticking straight out of the roof.  And a Lambo Countach visible when the door was open.

No intention of flying one, but putting one in the driveway would definitely start another skirmish with the HOA.
