Hi Anthony, Welcome to the ‘List and Merry Christmas to you! The 348 is a polarizing car, but my friend owned a 348 Spyder for 22 years and loved it to bits. In fact, he had owned three of them, starting off with a tb, then shortly after a ts and then finally, the Spyder. Our family used to travel to upstate New York a lot when I was growing up in Montreal, Canada as we had friends living in Albany. I live on the West Coast of Canada now (Vancouver) and certainly miss the area. This ‘List comprises a great mix of people which we share our passion for these cars (and sometimes gripes too!). I’m in the blue-collar world, getting my hands dirty on a daily basis (the petroleum industry) and have owned a 1975 308 GT4 for over 20 years now. Looking forward to hearing of your adventures with your dream. YOLO. Happy holidays! Peter Sent from Mail for Windows 10 From: Anthony Bauco I am new to the list and new to Ferrari ownership. I bought a 348ts a few months ago. After the holidays I start trying to fix a few things. I am sure I will be posting questions here. I am in upstate NY, just south of the Finger Lakes. I have loved Ferraris since I was a young child playing with matchbox cars. I am 100% Italian. My father was born in Italy in 1934 and lived through some horrible stuff. He came here to escape that life. He was a smart and creative guy with very little education, having grown up on a farm. I grew up borderline
poor. My sister and I were the first to go to college. I became an engineer and still work as a lowly engineer. It took a long time to be able to realize my dream of owning a Ferrari. To be honest, I have very few wants other than that. I live a pretty
simple life. From here on out, I just want to drive my Ferrari and visit my kids. To me, the art of the design is as important as the mechanical performance. I always thought the cars were cool but when I saw a 308 QV up close, I was forever hooked. Buying this car, even though it was cheap by Ferrari standards, was probably irrational and irresponsible. But one son is done with his expensive college and the other one is going to school practically for free. I have never purchased
an expensive toy in my life so, here we are. It was time. Tony |
