Peter,
Privacy is not problem if you have distance.  My nearest neighbor is almost 1000ft away with dense forest in between.
When I bought the mountain house, the master bath had floor to ceiling glass with no window coverings...  So I installed custom but unobtrusive, remote controlled hideaway blinds and shades.   Waste of money, now I never use them.  Kinda cool watching the squirrels, turkeys, birds and occasional coyotes while you are in the tub or shower...  so far, I haven't scared any critters away.
Had the spotlights on that side of the house on the other night watching the snow fall while I was sitting in the sunken spa tub.  Keeping that room warm is another story.  Had to put in-floor heating in the 3rd year... that I still use.

Does that master bath use one-way glass for the windows? Eh, not much privacy for my liking.

Definitely a cool garage.
