My good friend had a ’94 Spider. He kept that car for 22 years (bought it in ’96). Put a ton of mileage on it. Other than the alternator on two occasions (1st AC/Delco, then the 2nd Nippondenso), the wiring harness in the driver’s door and I think a couple of dead batteries, it was a most reliable car for him. The A/C controls held up that entire time – no issues at all. Yes, of course, sticky switches, but he fixed that himself, wiping it off with brake fluid. If it wasn’t Red/Tan, I would’ve bought that car off of him in a heartbeat when he was going to sell it (even though it’s way too much for a DIY’er for the major service). I really loved the driving experience and the proper open-top feeling. He wanted something new after all those years and replaced it with a GTC4 Lusso (which he doesn’t regret. Loves the new car to bits). This YouTube example is pretty good for 70K+ mi...
