Although he did buy it when it was a couple of years old, so I doubt they were trading above MSRP then. Keep in mind, the 360 was rolling out around that time so the usual group of me-first were dumping “last year’s” car and in the line up for the latest-and-greatest.

As much as this guy was only putting on average about 1000mi a year on this, he has kept it for 21 years. That says A LOT to me. I’ve had my 308 for 21 years as well and in most recent years, the car has spent more time in the garage than on the road, I wouldn’t let it go for anything. I love it. I’m sure this guy has valid reasons for letting this go after so many years. I’ve mentioned it many times, but my friend who had his ’94 348 for 22 years would’ve kept it, if it weren’t for health reasons.

I don’t get the impression he’s a poor guy. There’s still 7 days to go in the auction and the car is already sitting at $56K. My buddy in Seattle sold his 355 a few years ago for way less than that and considering how things are selling on BaT in recent days (which I’m too familiar with), there’s a lot of life left in this sale I feel.

I remember when these cars went for a premium

People paid over sticker for them

This guy is in for a religious experience when he sees what the bids are
