Overseas, it is much more common to see valuable classics being driven.

There is largely a different perspective on how old race cars are to be used over there.

I’ve seen them at various places, including the Monterrey Historics, but here in the Northeast the most commonly sighted 250GTO was the ex-John Surtees owned and raced by Jim and Sandy McNeil. Sandy races it hard and the remarkable thing about it is that it has never been “restored” and is pretty much as it was (except for maintenance of course) when raced by Surtees. Kept up at KTR Motorsports in Ayer, MA.
