There’s another company called Omaze that runs a bunch of these. For Omaze, at least, I researched it and it doesn’t seem to be a scam, but it’s not exactly 100% above board. Omaze partners with a charity to sell prize packages. If the ticket sales exceed the value of the prizes (or if it’s something valueless, like dinner with a celebrity), then some of the excess money goes to the charity, but the split between Omaze and the charity isn’t exactly clear. Also Omaze is not a 501c3, so your ticket purchases are not tax deductible in the way that some can be if an actual 501c3 charity is running a similar raffle.

 

Looks like this group (“Retornar”) may be running something similar. Caveat Emptor.
