Smart car shots were funny. I actually made use of perpendicular parking with my car once. There was one spot that was too small for a compact car, it was a bit tight if I parked lengthwise, so, I decided I’d try the ol’ 90 degree job. Worked great. Plenty of room for the other cars to get in or out and not enough room to tip it over as a joke. I left it like that for a considerable time (several hours) and got no flak about it (no parking tickets or nasty notes).

 

I had a love/hate relationship with that car. I loved the concept and it was the perfect urban vehicle. If it only had a gasoline engine and a manual transmission, I’d probably still have it to this day.
