Because of my proximity to Lake Tahoe, I have a couple of HMSA buddies who are 
also into Gar wood boats that make me a stopping point on their way to the lake 
every year.   Talk about money pits….  Imagine the problems you’d have if you 
drove and Ferrari through a foot and a half of water every time you took it 
out…. Then multiply by 5.   Then realize the 3 western states are run by dolts 
who hate real spar varnish almost as much as they hate guns.  Just gets less 
attention.  

One of the guys sends his collection curator on vacation (wink, wink) to Tahiti 
on his yacht.  He comes back with cases of Pari Pari and Varnish.  The spar 
varnish gets unloaded first.
