And most executives like their lucrative positions so they protect their asses in every way possible.  All this woke bullshit by large corporations is just that, bullshit.  None of these people care about anything but themselves.  They are just trying to avoid lawsuits and bad press.  Honestly, I think the same thing holds for safety.  I seriously doubt any of them really care.

One thing all of these self-proclaimed intellectuals at the top learned in their world history classes at the academies is that every empire in history eventually fell.  They are just too myopic to see that they are the ones repeating history.

Everything you guys are saying is just confirming my worst fears about how corrupt and dangerous the Swamp is in DC.

Checks and balances only work if there are at least a few people with integrity in the branches of government and the services.

We sadly seem not to have even a few and if there are a few, they’ve been sidelined away from positions of authority.

If you look at his career history, you’ll notice that there is a distinct lack of leading troops. Somewhere along the line somebody said, “this kid is a born bureaucrat, put him in an office somewhere, but for gods sake don’t let him lead anybody.”
The fact that he got as high as he did shows that somewhere along the line he had a leftist statist Rabbi that decided to shepherd his career for the future. I’m 99% sure I know who, and he’s as big a piece of shit as they come. If you knew how many senior senior officers in the military are hardcore leftists it’d blow your minds. Very few true conservatives get past MAJ, it’s too political once you get to CGSC.

I have been told that there are outside forces (those with money and influence) that specifically look for people with skeletons in their closet to place in the highest positions.  They want people in charge that they can control and they use the skeletons to control them.  This includes the president, senators, speaker of the house, heads of the CIA, NSA and FBI.  I have wondered for the last 4 years if, maybe, Trump didn't fit this mold and it was Hillary that was the chosen one.  Something went horribly wrong and now our elections look awfully fishy.  I mean, there has always been corruption but, now, it all stinks to high heaven.

Vindman...how does someone that soft and out of shape even survive, let alone move up?

AJ,
It has always amazed me how often this "type" rise through the ranks... often to the pinnacles.   I went to school with "Moldy", Tom Modly.   I was baffled when he was pulled back from civilian life to become SECNAV.   At the Academy he was just a weasel.  He kept to the code, but was able to make your skin crawl.   I think the Lords of Language created the word "smarmy" in anticipation of his arrival.   So when I heard about Crozier was fired from being Captain on the Teddy, I knew who was behind it.  "Moldy" would ruin the careers of 10 good men (or women) before he would take a single black mark on his record.  If Biden had been President then, I'm sure Moldy would still be SECNAV.

I guess the elected political snakes like to have the smarmy around to kiss their asses.

Thanks for chiming in on Vindman and Milley, it's always good to hear other's unsolicited views on those you perceive as useless.  It's a real shame because there a some real quality Generals and Admirals out there who never rise to the top... probably because the politicians can't control them.  Although those same officers seem to be targets for political apparatchik, the media and recently, the FBI/CIA.

The fact that Vindman called for his court martial is hilarious to me. Talk about the pot calling the kettle… FWIW, I actually know guys that went through Ranger School with Vindman and they all agreed he was a useless f*ck chow thief (literally the lowest thing you can be in a school where you’re constantly starving).

Milley is useless politician. Always has been. I worked directly with him at both 10th Mountain and the 101st, know people who worked directly with him at 5th SFG and III Corps, and he was a piece of crap mealy-mouthed douchebag the whole time. Milley is a legacy of Clinton and Obama years, a politician who made his biggest moves throughout his career by playing sensitivity woke politics to pander to the left and was shepherded throughout his career by those looking to push that agenda. The most telling part about Milley is how little SF work he did while at 5th Group. As a buddy of mine (who was at 5th Group at the same time put it), “He got his green beret, but he damned sure never used it.”
