Bends were done on a brake. Cut out with a large vertical bandsaw. Hand sanded and finished.

Made from 6000 series aluminum sheet, 0.188” thick.

Yes, I remember that and in fact, I made a batch back in 2003 (a dozen or so?) and sold them, mostly to guys in the PNW, but also across the U.S. I cut them from a single piece of aluminum plate (see pics below), which was the difference from the original as those were made from three strips of aluminum, joined to make the shape of a “U”.

File size definitely plays a part in pics getting, or not getting through in ‘List postings. I try to keep it below 200kb per photo. Not sure how it looks like on your screen...

On the list 20 years ago, somebody posted the diagram and instructions to make such a bracket. I used it in my 328 for 6 years and still have it today. I can never post a picture I take with my iPhone ( something to do with the size?) but I’m sure you can find the post with some searching. Would have been 2000-2002 time frame…..

A simple, slender bracket picking up the two rear seat bolts would work perfectly, allowing quick, easy access. Looks like the best solution...

In the 308 I use one of the (old) brackets that mounts the extinguisher under the front seat bolts of the passenger seat.   Could you fab one up for the Mondi?
