Really? The bottle I have in the 308 (which I used as a mock-up in my Mondial in that picture I posted a few days ago) is a 2 ½ pound Halotron extinguisher. It has been many years since I bought it (does that stuff go bad over time?) and I seem to remember it would have been under $300 Canadian back then. Peter Sent from Mail for Windows From: Rick Moseley I walked over to my neighbor's again when I saw his son-in-law there Sunday night. His son-in-law says Halotron is a good alternative to Halon. No harmful residues.
But you need twice as much halotron as you do Halon. But like Halon, it is not cheap. He said the smallest one he carries is over $700. But, if it means no mess, it might be worth it.
As long as the place in Nevada still refills my halon bottles, I'm keeping them. I've only had them topped off twice in 25 years and it was only about $200. On Tuesday, September 21, 2021, 09:18:11 AM PDT, Bruce Hill <bruce.hill [at] gmail.com> wrote:
You can still get small Halon fire extinguishers at Aircraft Spruce. Not cheap, but what is in aviation? Bruce Hill
