Make sure you drink a Gatorade first. My last call with him was close to two hours… On Oct 18, 2021, at 8:22 PM, Rick Moseley <ramosel [at] pacbell.net> wrote:
Here's another opinion... More are saying "automotively speaking" that Flat = Boxer. I always thought all Boxers were Flat, but not all Flats are Boxers.
Maybe I'm wrong. Clyde, Erik, Brian... I've got a call into Kent, I'll wear my flame proof underwear.

That is correct and Mr. Garven provided a nice link to demonstrate the difference.
When two planes (math) are at 180 degrees you have a flat surface. Flat = 180 degree V. Boxer is also flat but varies from a V for the reasons you gave. To distinguish between the two people call a boxer a boxer and a flat V a 180 degree V.
My daily driver is a true boxer. I know because I work on it.
I know we've been over this... 15 or more years ago. There are flat 12s and there are V12s. But there are also 180º V12s
So wasn't it determined that the Formula One 312B was a boxer motor and was therefor a Flat 12 Whereas the Ferrari Boxer and Testarossa although physically flat were actually 180º V12s?? as there was a difference in the crank journals and pin arrangements between a boxer and a V12?
Doug!!?????
It’s not a V-12 It’s a flat 12 Deees people!

Nothing can replace the feel of a vintage V12 Ferrari. I am sure you will put it through the paces in Europe and stretch her legs.
Bring it to Goodwood next year?
I joined the list in 2000. That’s when I heard about this car for the first time. Born in Italy she spent her life in Atlanta. Now she’s back in Europe in Stockholm, Sweden. Clyde always said I could have first shot at the car and I took it. Welcome to Sweden and Clyde, I will take good care of the old girl!
