Really, a gas-powered Smart car? I had one for a 24 hour test drive (as my ex-diesel one was in for a service). I thought my diesel was bad, the gas-powered one was the worst piece of shit I have ever driven. Couldn’t get out of it’s own way and the paddle shifting was even slower than the diesel’s transmission. I couldn’t wait to give the keys back. At least with the diesel, when you’d eventually get it in the meat of it’s torque curve, it was quite peppy, but with the narrow track, short wheelbase, massive understeer and an especially high CoG, it was very... tippy. I only wish we got the gas-powered Smart Roadsters. Now those I’ve heard/read were decent handling cars. They still featured the same crappy transmissions so it would be a great candidate for a bike-engine swap.
