Boxer trim?  Black skirt?

Honestly – I had know (sic) idea.

I just considered it a factory styling fad much the same as Pontiac smacking their huge “screaming chicken”(their term) on the hood of their black Trans Am.

Not ugly – simply a sign of the times designed to vacuum all the dusty corners of available consumers of their Scrooge McDuck money bins.  

Enjoyed the scope of the choices of the reasons, all of which no doubt have/had a moment of truth.
