| It’s because they are selling a dream and we are buying a dream. We are all buying the opening sequence to the Italian job. Italian car through the Alps….and we dream the car is simple enough to fix with simple tools…. They aren’t, it’s part of the show. Like a FWD car with a wing….like a speedo that goes to 180mph when the car tops out at 125…
It’s a dream. I admit that’s what I’m buying. An escape from the boring and the mundane. It’s a tool kit in a leather bag held in place with a leather strap. Just like in the 60’s, it harks back to the heritage and that’s what Ferrari is selling. The heritage. You don’t get that with a Tesla so I guess we are all suckers for living in the past. Probably to charge extra - same with the luggage. VERY few people travel in small cramped sports cars, and when you do find a car with a full set of luggage, it's worth less when it's been used! I've always wondered why Lamborghini (and a couple other manufacturers) include *white* gloves with the toolkits.
Why do Ferraris come with tool kits? There is absolutely nothing on a modern day Ferrari that the tool kit can fix! Even the tool kit on the 308 which is as basic car as you can get. What’s is it with the tool kit? Clyde Romero
