I’d love to spend a day with you Lash!

Remember, I have a GT4 as well (gathering dust at the back of my garage)! I’ve lit a fire under my ass and am getting back to it... The Mondial has been a fun distraction, but now both cars are sitting due to the weather.

Thanks, it is an immersion...

Saturday, I tinkered on a 330 2+2 Series 1, rode in a C6Z06 that afternoon and then drove a Maserati Gran Sport the next morning.

Spent 30 mins talking to a random dude on a Gen 1 Yamaha Vmax in the dry cleaner's parking lot this afternoon.

Will be driving a 612 Sessanta tomorrow and a 365 GTC (again) on Friday.

Countach QV on Saturday and C4 ZR1 on Sunday AM.

I have to say that I truly enjoy hearing about everyone's cars and their car stories on this List.

Whether it is Peter's Mondial, Gary's 430, Rob's GT4 Wonder Twins, CG's TR, Matt Boyd's 308, etc.

Whoosh…. Lash, you crack me up.  But like Rob, I always appreciate your car-guyness.

He lost me with the Rolls and “waftability” segments…

Panel fit is better on most Lego kits, if Ferrari was the benchmark, they didn't need to use an early 348ts as the baseline.

Too many gaps, awkward angles when you get close to it.  I'm sure the Honda guys in Tochigi are pointing at the original NSX with pride knowing that their design got copied.  Still wonder if the exterior styling team has been formally introduced to each other or if it was put together over a Zoom teleconference?  Lots of carry over from the design language from the Camaro.

The leather in my 365 still hasn't pulled away and that thing is pushing 50 years old soon.  No sticky buttons there either.

Interior reminds me a lot of the Suburban that I got from Avis last week when I was in Salt Lake City, same supplier base; not much development funds to make it different or special.  But it does look like it came out of a $75k truck.

I'm glad that the vast majority of people don't have the same opinions as me, I get invited to more interesting meetings because of it.

And no, the main selling feature of a Rolls is waftability.  Once you really make it in life, you don't need to race from meeting to meeting, they'll start when you arrive.  I still haven't gotten used to everyone standing up when I walk in, but I'll go with it.

1. That is subjective and, newsflash, not everyone has the same opinion as you do.

2. Have you been in one of the new ones?  The Z06 with the interior enhancements?  If so, was it the lack of rubbery buttons that will turn to goo that upset you?  Or was it the lack of leather that will shrink, pull away from its backing and look all wavy that you didn't like?

3. Um, shouldn't the interior of a Rolls be better by definition?  That IS the main selling feature of that car, no?

Let me know when the interior doesn't look like it was copied out of a rental car fleet vehicle.

Hell, my 1976 Rolls Royce is more appealing inside.

It really is.  A somewhat close comparison is the F430.  This car has 39% more HP even though it only has 28% more displacement.  It revs at 8600 RPM versus 8500 RPM.  It has a 7 speed dual clutch tranny versus 6 speed.  It has a 0-60 of 2.6s versus 3.6s and an identical top speed.  But the F430 was nearly $190k in 2005 and this will only be around $90k.  In 2021 money, the F430 was over $260k, nearly 3X more.  Even a low mileage used F430 today will cost $130k.

To get a car that you can argue is better performing you have to go up to at least the 458.  But that was $225k in 2010 or $280k in today's money.
