Oh my Michael, those names bring back a lot of memories!

Before I moved out West, I visited his main warehouse on Jean Talon to check out a ’76 Lancia Scorpion he had for sale (I believe it was owned by his son. White with red leather interior). I figured I would buy it and bring it with me as a souvenir from Montreal! Ha! But after checking it out, I wasn’t terribly impressed with it, especially because of the asking price. I do remember that warehouse being HUGE and not exactly the best place to keep such fancy cars. It had that kind of damp, musty old concrete smell, kind of like a regular service garage (a place where you’d work on Taxis, not Lamborghinis).

Those GT40s you saw, are they replicas? I can’t imagine he’d have TWO real ones...

Actually most of his cars are on Cremazie and Jarry streets near Viau. In one of the locations (Cremazie) he has 2 Ford GT40, plus other expensive cars, in a window facing the sun half the day. Not good for the paint. There are dozens and dozens of cars just sitting in different buildings for all to see.

Really? Luigi started off his dealership on St. Catherine’s Street and then eventually moved to the West Island (Ville St. Laurent) in the late ‘80s. Would that have been near his first location? John Scotti was on Jean Talon for decades and still has a dealership there, selling Volvo and other brands, but he located his exotic retail out in the West Island in recent years (Kirkland). I think they still keep their classic collection in the warehouse on Jean Talon.

I’m not surprised at your trivia bit. This is a small world...

They restored the ‘81 Pantera GT5 which was imported grey market to an address next door to the Ferrari dealer in Montreal.

Fitting as I spend a lot of time at the karting place up the street from there off Jean Talon.

Another bit of Dream Car Garage trivia…a good friend of mine designed and built the Dunnville Autodrome where they did most of their track testing.

Here is a clip of them testing a Dino…

Which one of your cars did they work on?

Tom was great and they both made a good team.

When I first saw that they tested vintage Ferraris and old Chrysler muscle cars, I was hooked instantly.

That’s all I needed to know about the show.

I just watched three episodes where they built the Corvette Z06 to run on the autobahn.

As a fun connection to the show, Legendary Motorcar Company restored one of my cars in the mid 90s.

He certainly made the show and was a perfect pairing to the pragmatic Peter Klutt.

Dream Car Garage...

Tom was classic.  Sometimes pee-your-pants funny.  I loved the running
gag they had for a season where he was an Italian mechanic, complete
with gold chains, named Olio Motore from Buono Fortuna Motors.  His
name was so classic, they even bothered to engrave it on the bottom of
my 308GT4 oil pan.

One episode he was attending an auction, trying to sell an old wood
side classic station wagon.  Auction registrar was a lady, let's call
her Mary.  Tom said, "I'm going to see if Mary can help me with my
woodie."

Great show, IMDB insinuates that it is still being broadcast.
