Wow.  I live 30 minutes from that track and have zero recollection of this event.  I live so close that I can hear the cars from my house when they race.  I honestly think F1 should return here.  Watkins Glen is no Monaco but the location is perfect.  You would get people from NYC, Philly, Boston, Montreal and Toronto.  Even D.C. and Baltimore are pretty close.  The track can easily be brought up to F1 regulations.  I have been told the big issue is local infrastructure.  Not enough hotels and restaurants.  It isn't a problem for Nascar as their fans just go back to their RVs and eat Hot Pockets and Ho Hos.

Still, I think F1 should test it out.  When it isn't raining (classic upstate NY) it is a nice area.
