Good Tires - Not Great Tires

For those interested, this is the FChat thread where the original photographer (Tony Robertson) actually showed up.

He did make some limited edition prints available (I got one, like Hans) and it also has the contact sheets with plenty of other views of the accident, along with the details he knew about the owner of the car and how it happened. Good read!!

Not sure if there was any accident analysis in that thread but here is the location on Glenridge near the intersection of Lockhart.

Did anywhere explain how he got into this situation?

Goosed coming out of a, now, unseen left hander?

Somewhere I saw the full contact sheet for the entire 35mm roll. It shows the tow truck pulling the car out. Damage wasn't too bad, got repaired and back on the road.

And . . . caught in all his glory . . . wearing white AFTER Labor Day?  Tch tch.

(wonder how they fetched his car out of this awkward position?

Was it Bob from St. Catherines, Ontario who practiced his moves on a BB?

Similar to the 288 GTO quick kick turbo “problem”?

There once was an F1 driver who was given, bought, stole, a 288 GTO when they first came out.

Sold it and commented: sort of : Too fast – too expensive.  Imagine – an F1 driver saying “too fast – too expensive.”

After reading that I stopped looking for one.  (ah ah ah)

And then there was the NorCal mechanic who took his customer’s 288 for a road toast, uh, test . . . . turbos cut in on a turn and off the road, down a hill sideways, through a chain link fence and was saved when the car, now 180 degrees from the road exit, passenger side clobbers a tree.

Other than that – it was nice looking.

Cheers

Doug
