How has this list turned into a Facebook classified comment section? Does the internet turn everyone into a raging asshole? 🤣

:-) My only comment on the current topic that is somewhat relevant is that, as a former Model S P85 owner and a long-term TSLA investor (since 2013), I am chuckling at people arguing about which car is better/faster, an American electric 4 door sedan or a very expensive Ferrari sportscar. Frankly, I want one of each, please. :-)

Lol…
In the Fox News app, whenever an article is in the “Duh!” category then the Comments section fills up with people listing what they had for dinner or lunch. I assume they’re trying to let Fox know that the “story” was a non-story waste
of everyone’s time. I thought you were headed down that road with us.
😊
LOL, I hit paste before copying and sent an article I just sent to a friend. ;-)
I really don't have a dog in this fight... basically don't care. Well, some day I'd hope to take a ride with Clyde... but I'd do that in his shitbox econocar daily driver.
Just a couple of problems... and I have issues with the Plaid (or Rimac) existing in the first place. I think it is counter to what is at the heart the EV movement. But
boys will be boys when it comes to cars.
Problem 1) 1,000HP... that's 3/4million watts. <- not a typo, 745,700 watts. At 375volts (Tesla S battery) operating level, that is just short of a 2000amp draw. Those
batteries are not going to last long at that drain level, I don't care what they claim in their data spin. Short term or long term. Yes, they have a cooling system. But that only gets rid of the heat being created. It doesn't stop the electro-chemical
reaction that causes the heat in the first place. That heat is harsh on the chemistry. For those not well versed, your home probably has a 200amp service at 220volts. The most you power you can ever pull out of your house is 44,000 watts. So for short
periods of time the Tesla Plaid is capable of using all the power of your home and all the power from 16 of your neighbors. That energy is coming from the grid to charge the batteries. 17 houses at full tilt of energy coming from what is probably a fossil
fuel driven power plant. Environmentally conscious??
Problem 2) A handful of people have done dyno runs on the Plaid... all they ever post is the Horsepower number and graph. NOT ONE that
I have seen has posted a torque curve. Yes, we all know electric motors have max torque at Zero RPM, but typically once you have it spinning, it's torque curve drops. So why are there no torque plots? Not saying anything is wrong, just a conspicuous
absence. Yes, I know they are using some sort of carbon/glass tube windings to preserve torque... but lets see the data.
Oh Clyde. In a plane, 0.1g just means a slightly higher turning radius. In a car, it means you end up in a guard rail or ditch and the other guy doesn't.
That is a big difference in a car.
If you think the team of engineers that built a 1000HP electric car can't sort out the aero needed between 160MPH and 200MPH, you are in for a rude awakening.
When they get it fully tested, it will show up on the cars and they will go 200. Then you won't catch it because you will probably never find a straight long enough. And that is probably for the best because you shouldn't be doing 200MPH. You ain't a spring
chicken anymore.
Oh yea one more thing Tony
Since the only thing you know about “Gs” is what you read
It’s only .1 of a G which isn’t anything a good ride at Disney World pulls more Gs.
But hey you wouldn’t know anything about Gs since you have live your adult life on the ground !

It is speed limited by the software. But you probably knew that, right?
It has a 0-60 of 2.1s and does the quarter mile in 9.4s. The 575 does 0-60 in 4.2s and the quarter mile in 12.3s. So, while you are running away from the
inevitable while racing a Tesla, you will spend a lot of time seeing its rear end. When it hits its governor, then you will pass it. But it will already be going 151MPH at the 1/4 mile mark and the 575 takes 1/2 mile and 20.1s to get to 150MPH. It takes
1 mile and 31.4s to get to 166MPH. It will take a quite a while before you catch it. Hopefully you don't encounter corners before then because the Tesla pulls 1.02g while the 575 pulls 0.92g. But, hey, when you need to brake before he does, at least you
will have the better brakes.
Make no mistake, it can do 200 or damn close. They are probably governing it due to the brake and/or high speed stability issues. When they are comfortable
with the solutions, they will probably offer an upgrade package including a software update. So, yeah, it has issues. But it also cost half what the 575 did new and 3X less than the 575's price in 2022 money. To some people, a Ferrari isn't worth 3X more.
To some it is. I only care about what I think.
Always trying to crap on other people's choices or preferences or achievements is not a good look. Enjoy your nice leather seats and superior paint job and
stop worrying about who or what is chasing you. It rarely seems to work out.
