Hello Peter,

Do you want my bank details to send the whole lot of money to?

At the FCA National Meet in Sebring FL in early November, this car was there.

The vehicle was a recent purchase by the owner. The "E-diff" warning 

light came on Monday night while driving back to town from the track.

The owner had purchased a "package" from the FCA for various events/activities

for the couple, one activity being track time. I don't know how long he was out 

on the track but as we were packing up our booth in the Mercato area, I notice 

the smoke and flames about a hundred feet away at the pit entrance. 

He showed no sense of urgency in getting out of the car all the while everyone 

nearby was screaming "FIRE!"  Kudos to the fire and safety crews as they were on scene

within a minute or two.

As we returned to the Seven Sebring Hotel, said car owner was standing next to the 

luggage trolley and was on his phone trying to get a 2-hour ride to the Orlando Airport.

His female companion was crying into her phone saying her vacation was ruined.

I can only assume he overheated the gearbox/differential or the PTU unit.

I can bet a whole lot of money it was the trickle charger that caused this (charging port is on the tailgate).

 

A friend almost lit up his Diablo with a trickled charger that failed... Good thing he was in the garage and caught it in time!
