Here in VA, we can have 7 characters, or 7 characters plus one space.  I could never figure out why, if they could put a space on the plate, why they wouldn't allow 8 characters....????

Can only use 6 characters in Oregon.  "DUZ 185"  would be similar, but
it likely has already been issued as a regular 3 letter/3 number
plate.
