Now I'm really getting off topic....

A good friend is an award winning chef, even won a European Iron Chef competition. He can make a gourmet meal out of just about anything.

But he was very poor and near starving while going to culinary school.  Seems like every time we went golfing, he had another story from back then about cooking road kill, or hunting nutria, squirrels, bob cats, or just about anything.

One day he poached a deer. Upon dragging it home, he saw that his wife was having a card party. Went in, told her to distract the guests while he discreetly drug the deer through the living room and into the bathtub.

When he was chef at the local country club, he often served "meat stew". I'd say "what's in it"? and he'd say "don't ask, you don't want to know". I'd sometimes respond "was it difficult to remove the tire tread marks?"

He always had a rifle in his truck, often in his golf bag.  Once he did admit to shooting the lunch special on the way to work. I didn't ask what it was.

I'm pretty sure I was one of only a few that knew what was going on, as he was serving meat that had not gone through inspection.

When he was young, he used to fish in the river just down hill from a Chinese restaurant. Saw lots of cat skins. What???  One day after shooting a bobcat, he noticed that a cat's backstrap was identical to the Chinese restaurant's mar far chicken.

PS. How do you know the toothbrush was invented in Kentucky?  If it was invented anywhere else it would be called a teethbrush!  Ba dum dum!
