I don’t see any judgment being passed.  But, I don’t use emotion or feelings as my yardstick for thought or conversation.  

It would be like me accusing your profession of being way too defensive or overly sensitive or fostering super Karenism.  “I” have no basis other than your statements to make that generalization, so I won’t.  

However, most of us have seen abject stupidity committed by Ferrari owners… over and over.  Been around long enough and you’ve probably witnessed it in person.  Keegan can back me up on that when a bozo in front of his old work over drove his 360 into a parked historic Drag Racer that was worth more than the 360.  Fortunately, I have not had to witness a death from these stupidities… yet. 

There isn’t much much of that in flying (at extreme levels) as it is ingrained in you from the beginning that it A) won’t be tolerated, B) will kill you with absolutely no inhibitions, emotion or remorse and C) could result in the death of those with you (my most considered factor).     

So, if it makes you “feel” better, by all means, defend these drivers.  In the long term betting odds favor lucky.

I don't.  That's why I didn't comment on his driving skills.  Maybe it is a pilot thing but you guys seem to like to pass judgment and joke about people dieing or nearly dieing.  Maybe it was how you guys convinced yourselves it wouldn't happen to you.  Maybe you guys were the lucky ones and it wasn't just skill.  The opportunity here is to look back with gratitude.  Just saying.

Do we know he was bad?  Maybe an animal ran out in front of him.  Or maybe an oncoming driver crossed the yellow lines.  Maybe they were even drunk.  Maybe the guy had a medical emergency.
