Mark,
I'm late to the game here - sorry - but after a bunch of years working a team in Ferrari Challenge and Grand Am GT, I'd offer this (which you've probably already thought of, but just in case....):
Storage, storage, and more storage. Tires, fuel, tools, pit supplies, spares, even for the race car tie down straps. You simply cannot have too much storage. And know that it will fill faster than your lap times. But as I said, you've probably already got
this covered.
But in your note below - trailer GVWR is roughly equivalent to the truck's towing capacity? What happens when you start filling up the trailer with two race cars and all the related "stuff"?
I'm really looking forward to reading about your racing exploits. Good luck!

Yes it's going to be a long one, kind of like Desi and Lucy in that movie The Big Trailer. From my weight calculations, including the two cars it's going to be about 10,000 pounds including the trailer.? The trailer GVWR will be 13 or 14,000 lb.? The truck has a towing capacity of 13,000 lb.? The maximum combined weight to stay underneath CDL guidelines is 26,000 and the truck has a 10,000 lb GVWR, thus the combined 23,000 lb is within the limit. The diesel version of the Silverado 2500 is a beast! I think it makes 660 ft lb of torque...MarkSent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone |
