That's insane and borderline criminal.  Check Rock Auto too.  Have her do it under your supervision.  My sister is 61 and never fixed anything.  She recently decided to give something a shot, succeeded and found that she enjoyed it.  I told her that fixing stuff is in our DNA and she was just manifesting as her true self.  I told her to do more.  My brother-in-law...well...nevermind.
