Pick the one with the most reviews and that is sold through Prime and/or has free returns.
If there is an issue, you can return it.
Alternatively, check Rockauto.com. They carry a full line of good aftermarket and OEM parts. On Jun 14, 2022, at 07:20, George <ygpz4re [at] hotmail.com> wrote:
Since Clyde brought up his daughter's need for bonnet struts on her Lexus, I also need boot lid struts on the '04 XK8. So I searched Amazon (have also looked at Rock Auto...) and found several different manufacturers - Boxi, Lesjofors, A-Premium, YHTAuto,
and more.
Any advice on how to choose what's good? Or are they all pretty much the same? I can pretty easily see some "good" ones being far better than other "good" ones....
Dad told me that he bought parts from a Jag dealer in Knoxville (and I have bought a couple of things there, which I couldn't find anywhere else), but they want about $180 - EACH - for these struts. It's not a proprietary part, so no reason in the world to
pay that crazy money for something as simple as a gas strut.
Anyway, appreciate inputs on how others make their choices on something like this....
Thanks!
