Well, this is surprising news.

 

As much as it is never a good idea to buy the first cars off of the line, you may have missed out on an opportunity. One thing that time has shown is that the first of any Ferrari sells out rather quickly, and this carries on to the second and third year. Anything after that and the novelty wears off. You could have bought this car, put a token amount of mileage on it, keep it for a max of two years and then sell it for a decent price.

 

I haven’t heard of any issues with the SF90, so the hybrid tech seems to be holding up in the short term. I doubt Ferrari has deviated much for the install in this car. In fact, I think this is the better car to have than the SF90. I can’t justify the price of it, the 296 is half the cost!

 

But maybe you are right to give it up. Like my buddy says, why bother buying new? Just enroll in their driving school every year. You pay the $12-$15,000, you get your choice of brand new cars to thrash around a track for a few days, be spoiled and eat like a king and then hand the keys back and let them deal with it. You don’t worry about servicing, annual insurance, or the long term depreciation. Cheap thrills.

Let’s just say there are things about that car that disturb the mechanic in me, and they are using materials that cannot withstand the heat this vehicle can put out.

For the posser, it will be fine, but for the driver the MTBF is going be something to watch.
