I really loved the 512TR mine had all the upgrades lights radiators you name it, relays for the fuse board.

I owned it from 1997 until 2021

Loved working on it, for me it was easy

I always like the 550/575 body style and the performance that went with it. Mine is a 2003

Its not a 512 TR body style but the 575 is still a PINN design and its STEALTH if it didn’t have the shields and the horse on it no one would know what it was.

The 512 TR screams look at me!

I knew Britt always wanted one so I had my fun with the car and I knew it was going to good home

I did not need to sell it.

But Britt was a good friend and he deserved the car

I wasn’t going to sell it to anyone.

Well to be fair, Clyde had both the 512tr and the 575 for quite a long time at the same time. I assume he ended up driving the 575 most of the time, I have plenty of experience in those cars and they are fabulous to drive. But even that is an older car (2006) I believe? Anyway I had been asking Clyde to give me first dibs on the 512tr since 2003 so I assume it just got where it wasn’t being driven, it was taking up space and it was getting to be a pita to worry about maintaining a car you don’t use as much. I know the feeling…. The 512 just doesn’t like to sit so you gotta drive it and use it but I can say it’s a bit of an old school handful and nothing like a 575. I like classic cars, I love the shape of a 512 and I wanted one for more than 20 years however I can honestly say if I had a 575 right now it would always be the easier car to take first, the easy choice to jump in for day to day, the car you can use all the time where you can get parts if things go wrong. So, I understand why you don’t need to V12 Ferraris and I’m glad I got to be the next owner. Back years ago when I had a 400i and the 328GTS at the same time, they were both great cars and very different but it got to be a pita to drive both as much as they required. I just didn’t have that many places to go that needed the “ special” car. It was a pita eventually and I sold the 400i. Loved that car, absolutely wonderful.

So, I’m not speaking for Clyde but I can understand what he may have been thinking in getting down to 1 special car and thankfully for me, I got the phone call asking if I wanted to buy it.

Britt in Stockholm ( winter is coming here but I will have the 512tr on the road for the rest of October). Just had it for a spin on Saturday, it’s always a thrill.

What surprises me even more was that you sold the 512 for one of these new-fangled things.  Still, I can't entirely disagree with the "keep it for a bit then sell for a hefty profit" notion...  But then, what do I know??
