I went with an H4 lamp housing and an Auxito LED 9003 bulb both from Amazon.

I have had great luck with Auxito and reviews are very good.

The improvement over the stock Carellos is amazing.

Total investment was $85 so not bad…

Brian Keegan sold me some Hella housings, as I recall they are DOT legal for motorcycles but not cars (shh, don't tell anyone). They definitely help! I've been using those for many years on my 308 and they're way way better than the old sealed beam option.

Same thing happened to me with the GT4 years ago.

These look really cool and I like the fact it’s an integrated unit – reflector body acts as a heat sink. The LED replacement bulbs from off shore have these huge heat sinks off of the back of the units that may be too big for some applications (especially for cars like ours that have pop-ups). The Holley lenses certainly offer a nice clean beam pattern.

My only concern is availability. Because the bulb is bespoke, you have to get it from Holley, or from a shop that carries them, if they burn out. The LEDs should last longer. With headlights though, manufacturers tend to “overdrive” the bulbs with pulsed, high voltage to get a brighter light, which tends to shorten the life of an LED.

When I had the dim lights on the GT4, the next day, I went down to my local NAPA store and bought all four bulbs (2 X H4 and 2 X H1). The newer Xenon types that have that brighter white hue and paid less for all of those than a single set of two of these. Thing is, I can go anywhere and get those “old school” bulbs. And they made a massive improvement in lighting up the road at night. I’d say almost as good as these.

Yes, for that price glass would be nice.  Plastic is lighter for us that are weight conscious though!

I had one of the older cars out a few weeks ago and ended up at a brewery after sunset.

The original Carello sealed beams were atrocious in deer country.

Those look like something I'd use in some of my older cars, but from the video the lenses are plastic (polycarbonate, he said). I'd rather see it in glass.

Anyone used these yet? A bit pricey but apparently really good.
