Rick, wrong shock tech.

This is a further development of the DSSV from the 2014 Z28.

Made by Multimatic in Canada.

Even if the physical body is the same, the magnetorheological component of the shock fluid can vary wildly.   Whether the carrier suspension media is conductive?  If so, how conductive? Valving, fixed or variable?  The size and make-up of the iron in suspension... ferromagnetic or ferrimagnetic?  Are they nanoparticles or micrometer scale particles?   What surfactant is used to prevent clumping or agglomoration? (sp?)

I'd imagine Charles is right, sold in pairs only.  Otherwise the imbalance across the axle could be uncontrollable.

It's all really cool... but in the end, just something else that can go wrong.   I hear a lot of the Lambo guys just put a traditional shock on the new cars and then they have to put a module on the connector to each shock to fake the computer into thinking the MH shock is still there.

Obiously the yellow horse box premium will apply, but the dampers are hardly news. Just like the magnetorheological shocks Ferrari licensed from GM, the Multimatics are already well dispersed – the gen 2 Ford GT, the Camaro ZL1, the Colorado/Silverado ZR2.

That said, they’re not cheap even in Chevy guise. The Colorado ones are about $3,700 / pair. So I guess the Prancing Horse premium bumps that to maybe $11k / pair?

This was GM/Delphi thing...

Two of the names in the patent history work(ed?) for Pratt & Miller

Make that connection?...    The Le Mans Corvettes (C6?)

But hey, we all know where Ferrari got their automatic transmissions.

Italian innovation?  Basta...

Why use a $200 part when a $4000 will do the trick?
