Two valve 308s. I believe the 365/400 series V-12 cars used them as well.

 

I believe the cars that are more susceptible are the ones that continue to use the air injection pumps for emissions, because that bumps up the heat in the exhaust ports (thus putting the valves under more strain). I think this is why I’ve only ever heard of V-8s dropping valves, not the V-12s.

 

I replaced the ones in my car with solid valves from Superformance UK back in 2001. I don’t know if they still stock them, or if other suppliers have them now as well.

 

My car never came with air pumps because, from the history, they were removed back in the ‘80s. Even then, three of my exhaust valves were BENT... They could’ve snapped off at any moment!

It is surprising how many people who buy these cars (two valve 308s) aren’t aware of the sodium valve issue...

 

I have seen the damage caused by one of them breaking (not my car, but one owned by a Washington state resident). Brutal... I’m glad I pulled mine out 20+ years ago.
