I told you about my trip to Maranello last july and the books I had bought too. I finally finished this book about the company that made the suitcases for all Ferraris from 1977 to 2019. Very interesting reading, worth every penny. Lots of great stories beside the suitcases: It all started when Schedoni’s brother in law asked him to make suitcases for his 1976 308 for Christmas. Commercial suitcases didn’t fit in. This brother-in-law happened to have Ferrari’s executive commercial executive as a friend. When he saw the suitcases, he asked Schedoni to visit him in Maranello. The rest is history. Schedoni even made the leather agendas for them. You get pictures of all the models they made with a good explanation for each. Great real history of the Prancing Horse from Italian military to Ferrari cars. Gilles Villeneuve had a 308 for 2 years: According to 1 person in the book, they changed the engine 3 times, transmission 10 times, the brakes every week, car interior twice. I’m just the messenger here. Villeneuve once did Monaco to Maranello (432 km / 295 miles) in 2h25. With every single car mentioned you get the Technical Specifications (see picture) ![]() ![]() Finally, 2019 was the year Ferrari switched to a London designer, Marc Newson to make the suitcases.
