T-2 was my Jet Trainer and first aircraft I took to the boat, this boat... The Lexington.  7 years earlier.

This guy was on his first trip to the boat, 5 people died including the pilot.

He was low and slow.  At best this was going to be a ramp strike... he made it much worse.

So what did you hear about his performance?   Did he fail his FCLTs?

It was tragic and they should have caught the signs earlier but going to the boat levels the playing field and separates the wheat from the chaff.
