Yea take out the elephant ear flap and go for it
Your best bet is to get a Japanese compressor as a replacement
And stay with the R-12 stuff it cools faster than the new stuff
I had an 86 308 GTB and the a/c sucked large
Don’t forget to check the condenssor coil and those 2 large fans
As well
Call me if I can help
I lived in the big easy with that car

Subject: [Ferrari] Access to A/C bits

Hello Friends,
This weekend I choose to repair, or at least diagnose, the problem with
my 308GTB's A/C. I can handle all of the electrical bits and I can handle
the thermo-dynamics of air conditioning. What I wish to ask is; Is the A/C
compressor, wiring and plumbing easier to access from the engine bay opening
or up through the right-hand-side wheelwell with the liner removed? Please
remember that this is a GTB. Your advice is appreciated.

  Regards,

  Rick
