Ah...this is Gilles Villeneuve.  One of the greatest F1 drivers ever to  
race.  Gilles is practically a saint in Italy...and in  
Maranello...well, they even elevate him further than that.

Three years ago, when my daughter was eleven, we visited Maranello.   
She and I entered an F1 souvenir store near "The Factory" gate.  She  
immediately asked a clerk for any Gilles Villenueve items they had in  
stock.  She was greeted by stunned, motionless silence.  The clerk  
quickly went to the back of the store where she engaged in an animated  
conversation with another clerk.  Both clerks then approached my  
daughter and asked her how she knew Gilles Villenueve.  She told them  
he simply was the best driver ever to have raced for Ferrari.  The  
clerks each broke into broad smiles and asked her to come with them,  
they wanted to introduce her to the owner of the store.  My daughter  
was quickly given something to drink, food appeared, and she was  
treated like a modest celebrity.  We finally left the store 30 minutes  
later with a bag of free Gilles Villenueve paraphernalia.
