You should definitely notice a difference, usually when driving over rougher
pavement. It's tougher to notice additional roll, for example, for someone
who's not put a lot of time in behind the wheel. But don't fret too much -
if the suspension system has a problem it will most definitely illuminate
the trouble light.

I would qualify Dennis' statement above a little. My car is a 98 spider, so the adjustable suspension works a little differently (switching from normal to soft rather than normal to sport), but the info is still true.

The 355 shocks are prone to leaking the oil that gives them their adjustability. When they do this, they generally do NOT light the suspension trouble light as Dennis mentioned. You can replace them if you want, but it's much cheaper to rebuild them. If you check them and find significant oil around the upper mounting point and rubber bushings (for the rear ones), they are bad. With the spider at least, with the shocks in soft mode the car definitely rides more smoothly, particularly over sharp bumps like broken pavement. On smooth pavement, it is very difficult to tell a difference.

I had mine recently rebuilt here and was very happy with the service:

Other than that, everything else I've read looks right so far. Good luck!
