I got my wife an 89 190E-6cyl 4dr and she loved it for its size and
driveability.
It is small with great visibility but seats 4 comfortably.

When it was totaled at 220k mi getting rear-ended by a pickup truck doing
50
whilst I was stopped in traffic, it crunched nicely absorbing the bulk of
the impact.

She insisted on another so she now has a '93, the last year of mfgr and
still
very satisfied with it. First one lost mufflers, AC compressor. Current
one
had rusted transmission line leak (the car's beginnings were in
Connecticut's
salt street winters). Warning lights are now an occasional nuscience
(sp?) ,
giving false readings of low brakes, low oil etc. Highly reliable mature
design -
total maintenance in 10+ years 100+k miles about $2.5k. Only regrets are
the nearest dealer service is 40 miles away and parts costs are halfway
between Ford and Ferrari.
Join the MB forum for issue info and availability of parts.
