I dunno about any power or efficiency claims, but it keeps the engine bay a heck of a lot cooler, and is far more maintainable than the OEM heat shields that Ferrari has traditionally used. I've done this on two 308s and was very pleased with the results.

Hi all,
Wow, what a fantastic summary, Dennis. But Dick, I think I'm with you - I have a Breitling but I never wear it - on a day to day basis it's for posers in my view. I really don't know one end of a gun from another - well, that's an exaggeration - I've seen movies - but seriously, I don't know anyone who even owns a gun - it's not a big thing here. And Talladega is just another name in a far off land to me.
Maybe to sum up, you use those watches to time the cars at Talladega, and if those damn' Porsches are going too fast relative to the Ferraris, you can shoot at 'em!
Anyway, here is a serious question: I am looking at putting a more efficient exhaust on my 328 and wonder if any of you have experiences with ceramic coated exhaust systems. The literature says that the ceramic coating is ultra efficient at keeping the heat in, and thus the gas does not cool so quickly and so does not slow down as much. Thus the exhaust gasses are better vented, leaving more room in the chambers for fresh fuel/air and thus more efficient combustion and so more power, etcetera, etcetera. What's the view on this?
Cheers, Grahame
