National Aeronautics and Space Administration. It was formed in 1958 by the National Aeronautics and Space Act which added space travel activities to the existing aeronautical research body called NACA (National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics). NACA was created in 1915 to do aeronautical research.
Ever wonder why those sort of triangle-shaped intake ducts on a race car are called "NACA ducts"? It's because NACA did research to find the most efficient way to intake air into a airplane fuselage. The "NACA duct" was the shape that caused the least amount of drag.
