You might want to read the fine print very carefully on those "Private" deals.

They can be pierced. Threat of legal action can undue it. I have been helping a group find out who is behind some hit job websites. The fine print is most interesting. You still need a good case but if the site is actionable and you threaten legal action, then the registrar might give up the real owner's contact information.

This isn't for anything illegal, it's just for business reasons
I don't want others to know that I'm associated with this
(potential) website.  And, no, it wouldn't work to have
a family member, etc. do it.
