1) You can still open in the morning, close at night, do whatever you
do during the day. The cc merchants will not show up and force you like
the candy machine guys might. If it's not to the businesses advantage
to accept credit cards then as a principal it is your choice to not
accept them.
2) If the business makes a pile more money by accepting cards then as a principal it is your choice to give the business access to this cash flow. Budget in fees and fraud and be happy with your return.
It's all about the business, and hopefully you choose what's best. The cc merchants are making it really cheap and easy for you to take money from people that might not even have it.
